Isobar and dentsumcgarrybowen Amsterdam announced Kika Douglas as new ECD

Kika Douglas has been promoted to executive creative director of Isobar and dentsumcgarrybowen Amsterdam, and will join the management team of dentsumcgarrybowen. The move will bolster Dentsu’s ambition to create an idea-led transformation proposition across its creative offering. Kika will work closely with Mark Muller, executive creative director dentsumcgarrybowen and Daniel Sytsma, chief design officer Isobar EMEA and ECD and founder of Kraftwerk linked by Isobar.

Kika was previously creative director and was responsible for the globally recognised ‘Road Tales’ a location-based interactive audiobook for Volkswagen. The work has become most awarded Dutch work of the year, with a D&AD Yellow Pencil and five Cannes Lions to its name.

Douglas began her career at JWT in Spain, where she won international awards for Nike Women and Adidas Originals, before moving to AKQA, Johannes Leonardo and David&Goliath in the US. Douglas joined dentsumcgarrybowen Amsterdam two and a half years ago as creative director.

Mark Muller, executive creative director dentsumcgarrybowen Amsterdam, said: “Douglas has shown in recent years to be of great value to the agency. Her international experience and input creates more diversity in our work. I look forward to be working with her and Sytsma and form the creative leadership of the agency”.

Kika Douglas added: “I see Isobar and dentsumcgarrybowen as a dream spot for everyone who loves creativity, we have a fearless team that gets everything done. It's an honour to work with this team every day and learn from them”.
