Chiquita Banana encourages everyone to stay home, including the Chiquita Banana logo lady.

Everyone is promoting social distancing with their logos now, from McDonald's to Coca Cola, and now the Chiquita Banana lady has left the logo and gone home.

I'm already home. Please do the same and protect yourself.  #stayhome

So reads the message on Chiquita Banana 's Instagram in this logo-PSA. Who knew ad mascots had homes? I want to see that, MTV cribs style, hey Chiquita Banana, call me so I can visit with my camera crew. I'd watch the heck out of that show.

Chiquita Banana has gone home

The original Chiquita Banana animation from the fifties had June Valli as the voice, but the mascot was clearly inspired by the 1939 musical Banana da Terra with Carmen Miranda.

If they can extend this idea to have all bananas in the future carry a Chiquita Banana logo without Miss Chiquita Banana, I'll never buy another brand of bananas again.

If only because I am so amused by the thought of Miss Chiquita Banana chilling in her home watching TV while sipping on daiquiris. I'm sure the interior of her house has a tiki bar and old school bamboo furniture, and her closet has an extension just for fruit-hat boxes.
