We've secretly switched their XP to Windows Vista... Lets see if they notice.

Oh no, it's yet another hidden camera commercial. Haven't we done these by now?

Arstechnica:

The company hasn't figured out how it will use this to market Vista (the company has video footage of users exclaiming "wow!" and so on), but the Mojave project will likely help in Microsoft's plan to tell the "real Vista story." This is some real ammo here: these are XP lovers saying they love Vista, not just more Microsoft employees giving statements to sell the software giant's latest operating system.

C|Net has more: Microsoft looks to 'Mojave' to revive Vista's image:

To be sure, the focus groups didn't have to install Vista or hook it up to their existing home network. Still, the emotional appeal of the "everyman" trying Vista and liking it clearly packs an emotional punch, something the company has desperately needed. Microsoft is still trying to figure out just how it will use the Mojave footage in its marketing, though it will clearly have a place.

I never trust focus groups who don't get to try it at home, personally. Demos are easy. Bill Gates has always been the king of demos - when he showed off Microsoft Word at a Mac Expo way back in the early nineties the mac only froze once, he had navigated to narrowly avoid over 600 bugs* in the then unfinished word program. I bet he could wow people with Vista with his hands tied behind his back.

Really, there's ammo here? I'd be a lot more impressed if these were Mac users who suddenly loved Vista. These seems like XP users who have never seen Vista who suddenly love Vista. Try to convert some Ubuntu users, lets see how well that goes. Will they go "wow" just like in the old commercials?

Via the Denver Egotist. (And yeah these Vista / Mojave ad campaign leaks have been mentioned earlier)
