Vauxhall Corsa "A-Z" (2015) 1:00 (UK)

Jake Bugg has become the Moby of this decade, licensing his music as much as possible, to pay the bills, cause piracy sure don't pay.

Here, he provides the soundtrack for the new Vauxhall Corsa. The car looks fun to drive, and the spot is clever by literally showing an A to Z of what you can do in the Vauxhall. H is for Hitchhike. I is for Ice Cream. And P is for Peeing by the side of the road, geddit? Narf narf narf.

I wish all of the examples were as clever or interesting (K for Keys?) but I suppose the client insisted on as much car porn as possible. This spot keeps things moving, and the car porn never really feels too gratuitous considering we spend an awful lot of time in the car.

As stylistically fresh as this spot looks, the concept doesn't really have a USP that's unique to Vauxhall. As with most car brands these days, the spot is treating the Corsa as this lifestyle choice that "fits in," with your life. In other words, they are appealing to a younger, more shallow demographic. And while that may be a motivating factor on one level, the Corsa is pretty inexpensive car, so the majority will buy it based on price.

Still, if the whole point of a car is getting me from A to Z, you can say that about every car on the road.
