Nike Golf - "Hacky Sack II" Tiger woods ads two variants (2001) (USA)

Tiger Woods, the renowned golf star, is once again captivating audiences with his impressive skills in Nike Golf's latest ad campaign, set to debut on Saturday. With a staggering five-year, $100 million endorsement deal, Woods holds the title of Nike's top professional athlete.

The commercial, titled "Hacky Sack II," features Woods showcasing his finesse by deftly maneuvering a golf ball between two wedges and executing a one-handed swing to slice it. Demonstrating his mastery, Woods skillfully taps the ball off his elbow, baseball cap, and even between his legs. This edition of the ad, developed by Wieden & Kennedy and directed by Joe Pytka Productions, emphasizes the performance of Nike Tour Accuracy golf balls.

Throughout the commercial, Woods is dressed in a Nike polo shirt, black pants, and a baseball cap, but he does not speak. The ad concludes with a voiceover proclaiming, "The Nike Tour Accuracy ball. Great with wedges."

The first airing of the commercial is scheduled for Saturday on CBS, during the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am coverage. Additionally, ESPN and The Golf Channel will also broadcast the spot on the same day.

Despite sustaining a knee injury during a practice round for the tournament, Woods is expected to tee off on Saturday. For the first time, consumers can catch a sneak peek of the new commercial online at Nikegolf.com.

The advertising campaign, orchestrated by Mike Kelly, Nike Golf's marketing director, will include online promotions and is set to run at least until the Masters in April. Bob Wood, president of the division, expressed excitement about their innovative approach, aiming to impress and intrigue American golfers with an array of fresh tactics.
