Moddess - The safety napkin, no matter where you are / Airplane - 1968, print

I'm not sure when napkins became pads, or why it was important to wear a napkin while traveling at 10,000 feet, but Modess certainly depicted "freedom" with this shot of a small airplane, piloted by a blond model in Pucci style glasses. 

"Only new Modess give you the extra protection of folded fluff filling" the copy promises, and so women can dream about being pilots without worrying about their periods.
