British creative team wants to give your award the Legendary Lion Tour

There's a crazy creative team across the pond who asked a question to the British Advertising Industry this week: "Would you give away your precious Cannes Lion to two total strangers?"
The goal is to create the most Legendary Lion ever.

Sandrine Gautheret and David Felton are departing from London to NYC at the end of July, and are offering a space in their luggage to turn one special Lion into a celebrity.

Copywriter David Felton explained it thusly: "The idea here is that you've dreamed about winning that award, and you've worked hard for it. Now it's time to make it work for you. We're looking for an agency that’s willing to take a risk instead of just leaving their Lion on a shelf. We want to transform one Lion into a global icon, sending it on trip of a lifetime,"

But will any UK agency decide to trust them with a precious Lion?

"We hope so" said New York-based creative Mate Nagy. "We offer agencies much more than just daily snaps of their shiny award. They can ask us to visit their clients' and partners' offices and show that creative work can keep winning attention, too. One agency will be making a stand in the recent debate about whether award-winning ads will even be remembered in a few years."

That last bit makes this more than just an Amelie gnome bit. Visiting the client's offices with it is a bit like bringing the Stanley Cup to the local hockey rink, not only in terms of PR, but in terms of aspiration. Kind of a "See? You already have one in your office. Now start doing work that wins them."
