Adgrunts?

Adgrunts can Twitter all their posts!

Adland is on Twitter now - I opened that account a million years ago it seems, but I didn't want to do anything with it until I could do it automagically. Well, I've gone one better and now all adgrunts can twitter their Adland posts to their own Twitter accounts.
Yeah, if you're the type who likes to make it easy on your stalkers to find everything you do, follow these instructions inside to get adland-twittering.

I'm looking for a commercial / advert song title / actress name - can you help me find it?

Yes, and no. No if you email us directly with your quest, as we're really busy people and have many other emails to attend to. Yes if you direct your commercial-hunting questions to the hive mind in the forums in the "searching for...." area dedicated to these types of questions.

What are brownie points and how do I get some?

Brownie points are awarded every time you comment (2 points) post in the forums (4 points), post a news story or commercial (8 points) or review an adbook or film (a whopping 20 points).

You'll also score 25 brownie points if you invite a buddy and they join, plus they score a handsome 45 just for joining via your invite. You will not score any points just for sending an invite, regardless if people join or not since this feature was abused way too much. Sorry everyone.

What regular adgrunts can do here.

When you log in, you are an adgrunt. Here's what you get for your 20-second effort:

  • No google text ads or flashy banners, ever - only see the pretty ads that we give a toss about. Nice.
  • The ability to "favorite" your favorite stuff - it's like an internal site bookmarking system, favorite the articles and ads you want to refer back to, create your own library which you can browse later. Very practical! Don't be caught serching for a great ad again.
  • Sorting your buddies.

Inviting buddies scores brownie points. Having buddies simply allows for easier stalking of your favorite adgrunts, or the adgrunts you love to hate. You can group your buddies if you want.

    Here's my buddylist. It's long.

So I like to group my buddies by who I know in real life, who I know through Adland and who I simply know.

    What are "favorites"?

As asked in the forums. Favorites are a way for adgrunts to keep track of the films (and articles) that they like. It's a way of bookmarking stuff and then getting a page here, with said bookmarks. Other members may see your favorites on your userpage, so you might be recommending ads to watch to your adgrunt buddies (or fans).

Adgrunts can subscribe to the posts (or topics!) that you want to know more about.

There are many reasons to subscribe to a post. It might even be your ad and you want to know what everyone thinks about it. You choose to subscribe to individual posts beneath each post - see the far right link here?

Adgrunts can be notified to everything new on the whole site.

Are you a true ad-dict? You can keep abreast with everything that happens here via email, simply choose to get notifications on your account page. Click "my notify" and you'll find a page full of cute radio-buttons like so:

Once you choose to enable this, an email will arrive every three days telling you what's up, if you've chosen to be notified of posts only, that's all you'll get. If you also want to check comments, you'll get links to the posts where everyone is chatting as well.

Adgrunts only see the ads they want to see! (No banner ads)

The best part about being an adgrunt, is that you only see the ads you want to see. When you log in all google text ads and possible other banners we might have vanish out of your sight. The pages are noise-free and clean, so that you may concentrate on looking at the ads you actually want to look at.

How do I get my link in the Ad links?

Signed in adgrunts get to do more stuff than random visitors that are not signed in. One of the things adgrunts can do is submit advertising links to the ad links page.

The suggest a link link appears underneath the "ad link" menu item in the left block when you are on the ad links page. see image.
