Asking everyone in public brings two good things (tm) to the table - 1) more people see it sooner and you're likely to get the right answer faster - 2) the answer lies in a public googlable place for the next guy who might be searching for the same thing.

Also, try working up some good karma by replying to any questions in there that you might know the answer to. Spread the ad-love, you know.
