I've just found an interesting quirk. Abandoned shopping carts. Now, they say that 80% of all shopping carts online are left before completing, so that part doesn't surprise me really - it's the combination of these and frustrated adgrunts who can't figure out why they haven't gotten their upgrade that stump me. You need to complete the process to get the upgrade, mate. ;)

Ok, so an adgrunt wanders into the product page, picks his poison and adds it to their cart. Presto, a cart appears in the top left reflecting their choice.

After this all you need to do is choose between plastic or brownie points and checkout. Some don't do this for whatever reason, maybe they simply changed their mind.
For whatever reason, the adgrunt has gotten this far but skipped entering CC details. Notice that at this point the shopping cart block on the left vanishes.
So the payment is left with status "pending" in our records, and no upgrade is give to the adgrunt.
Sadly since the shopping cart has vanished the adgrunt might wonder where that half-finished order went - they can check under "my account" in the navigation on the left to see their ordering history on their own user page.

If the ordering history reads "pending" like the one below - they have the choice of making the payment...

If they don't want to upgrade, I cancel the pending payments after a while (and a quick email to the users who have them) to clear up my pending queue, so there's nothing to worry about.
You can see any canceled payments in your order history as well, so we both keep track.
If any adgrunts have any problems with the cc-form, contact us. We'll never accept paypal or American Express though. AE is too expensive for us, and Paypal have proven themselves untrustworthy to us. Stay far away from them!
