I agree -- I want to stay well away from these things, not buy them!
A friend (who seems to know his alarm clocks) says the point is that these clocks come with a ROUSE button, which is essentially the opposite of a SNOOZE button and makes the clock blast your eardrums out so you wake up instantly. Which at least makes sense of the pictures.
