Which brand?

This ran in the UK about 5-6 years ago as a piece of ambient art. I recall seeing it around Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane.

Paving slabs were printed with text that said things like: Pavement, 1979, Artist Unknown, Mixed Media.

They also did brick walls and other things.

Can anyone recall who it was for and who did the work. I've wracked my brains (which didn't take long) and come up with zilch. Tried Google. Nada.

Help!

Thanks in advance.

Finally, it's been discovered. It was Mother London for Britart.co.uk (now called EyeStorm).

They won a good 'ole yellow/gold pencil for it. It was back in 2000.

Thanks go to Rossage (an adgrunt) for the info!

Sorry, I missed this post - I knew it was britart. :P

Other Britart mentions here in adland (it's been Badlanded!) Art imitating art. We also had some sour grapes* spurred on by a slight backlash in The Guardian. *Hallmark of a job well done, really

Swedes bring home the gold (2000 - had to go all patriotic when they won both a gold pencil and gold ADCE)

Thanks for the additional info, Dabitch. I knew someone would have all the gossip on this. :)

Heh, it just reminds me that I'VE BEEN DOING THIS TOO LONG! Or I'm getting old. Either way SCARY!

I was right about the backlash not lasting long, wasn't I? (damn I've hung around here way too long)

Hey purplesimon, did Rossage email you instead of replying to the post?

Rossage actually sits just across from me, but I thought his answer was right (although I've not read Dabitch's reply) and so I decided to post his thoughts instead of simply letting it go.

Let's just say the previous evening was a bit full-on for Rossage and so typing a coherent message wasn't really an option for the poor lad. :)

Rossage actually sits just across from me

Hahaha, small world. :) *waves to a possible hungover Rossage*

He's on holiday this week, that's how much he needs to recover!
