Vaseline vs Sanex

Here's the Vaseline "Your Skin is Amazing" ad from several months ago.

And here's the Sanex "Your Skin is Alive" ad that started a week or so ago.

Does Vaseline own Sanex? Do they both use the same agency? Or did Sanex just reckon Vaseline was onto a good thing?

I'm also trying to find the recent Skills Train ad that seems to have much the same theme.

D'oh! It's not for Skills Train, it's for the government-run Learning and Skills Council.

It's not quite the same concept as the Vaseline and Sanex ads, but I'm always reminded of one when I see the other. It has a similar sort of voiceover, too.

I don't believe there is any thing more than brain sync between Vaseline and Sanex...I don't think they are owned by the same company. Funny how closely the ads came out too.

This is funny, I just heard about a co-worker raving about the Vaseline ad and had never seen the Sanex version. When they saw that ad they thought that Sanex was just another Vaseline-brand.

...and that pretty much sums up why it's bad to be in badland...

That's exactly it. When I first saw the Sanex ad, I thought it was another one for Vaseline.

You have to admit, the Vaseline one is a lot more memorable. More poetic.
