Interesting ad, but it lacks a little punch in the VO/line. They probably figured that the idea is so strong that it works on its own, which in theory it does, I just felt that the ending could have been more of a kick in the balls.
..might actually have been better with "real" sounds added to the simpsons scene instead.
Makes me think of the lead-in of The Simpsons where little Maggie is handled the same way.
You're not the only one to think of the Simpsons - exactly what I thought of as well. Real sounds on that animation might have been more effective.
That was way to obvious. I saw the punchline right from the start.
Why not have Madonna put pricing tags on babies and stacking them like apples. Angelina Jolie sit at the checkout. A baby rolls along on the conveyer-belt without a price tag on and Angelina grabs the mic and says: »Hey, I need a price on an Asian kid, female, about 24 months, good teeth but sad eyes.«
HA HAH HA! Oh yeah that'll get attention!
Kinda bothers me just a teeeny weeny bit that the human traffic is a young (female) child. Are children more often human trafficking cargo than say, 15-20 year olds? Made me think of Bill Hicks: "Save the children! They're killing children! How many children were at Waco? They're killing children!" What does that mean? They reach a certain age and they're off your fucking love-list? Fuck your children, if that's the way you think then fuck you too. You either love all people of all ages or you shut the fuck up.
But yeah yeah, I get it, can't have a teenager in that cart unless you wanna mess up the srprise (which wasn't a surprise to most here I gather)
I thought the concept was quite strong.
