Yeah so hey. The forums are back.
...and I totally hate them. You would too after all that weeding.
Lesse now.. Did anyone ever bother using that "subscribe to this topic" option in the old forum? Because then I'll put something like that up here. I can see how it's practical when you're waiting on a reply on a question - it just seemed that in that particular forum (searching for commercials) nobody every used it.
But yaknow, if you fancyy it I'll fix it. What say you?
Oh and by the way, notice the "file attachments" dropdown? You can now upload pictures to your posts.
Alas, you'll have to "IMG SRC" them into your posts yourself. Or just check the "list" box that way we can open the attachment because it will be listed at the bottom. Cool?

I'll demonstrate. Picture embedded with img src above and box checked with "list" below, showing a pic attached. see?

HEY! hmm. im not getting an upload file option here.
Oh wait nevermind, I do get it when I'm try to make a new forum post/thread. Cool.
Ok, that's good.
I'll see if I can fix it for replies as well. Though we never really have any photoshopping competitions around here we might start if it's easy, amirite amirite?
Neato! I don't think I've ever used that topic subscription feature - although peeps waiting for specific info on a commerical might - but I bet you can't just turn it on for a portion of the forums. :)
Uploading in reply-posts would be good.
A lot of (old) forum posts have apostrophes showing up as asterisks. Including mine, and I know I typed ' because: (a) I'm a proofreader and I notice these things, and (b) it's a lot easier to type ' than *.
So what's this one going to look like, then?
EDIT: Ooh, it came out OK.
Oh that's my fault, totally my fault, and I did it on purpose because I was a) lazy and b) tired. ;P
When importing forums the correct-curly quote '-thingie was causing problems, and in some cases so did the regular '. So late at night I just swapped those out with the innocent asterisks that doesn't mess with the mysql-import unlike a ' that signals "end of this field".
Anyway, new posts won't suffer that faith, as you could tell. ;)
Uploading images in replies now possible.
Yer welcome. ;P
More coming. (like automagick embed.)
