Postfobia?

>>Mebbe I should just streamline the whole thingiemahbob. I*m working on a new system. It*s taking aging, but yaknow, moving over 45 thousand post and then over 800 links, and 200 forumposts and 75thousand users and make it all add up *is* gonna take a while.. So anyway, I think these forums are ok as far as "easy to understand and use" goes, but I*m adding more helpful stuff to the new ones. Like "attach image" to post and that sort of thing. Buttons. Buttons are key. People like buttons. At least that*s what I tell myself at one in the morning.

Good ideas. I like buttons. Red buttons. Big red buttons.

Hi all and happy new year

I guess you guys are all very busy since we haven*t had a post here in three weeks. Come on - somebody gotta have some gossip or something. I need to see pink folders. Must have pink folders. Please...

afternoon uhl

So sorry to hear you keep meeting yellow folders.

personally I*m busy like a hairdresser on fire these days, and not in the good way. I wish I saw more pink boxes too - sometimes (wrongly, of course) I feel like posting is a chore. Shouldn*t be like that but after all day working and cleaning and chasing after baby (yeah, no daycare for her, fun for me. not) and then I log on at night I deal with some administrative stuff and feel totally humorless and too tired to post anything fun, or chatty or anything at all.

Maybe it*s the winter blues. Should I seek help?

wink

Dabitch - no need to get all stressed up about posting my dead. Posting should be fun, inspiring and refreshing. Not a chore.

Now about that winter blues. I always seem to get lots of help out of a nice bottle of red wine. Put the kid to bed, kick back and enjoy a nice quiet evening. smile

aaaaah, I wish, but I*m allergic to red wine. Absinth on the other hand..... ;P

Aaaararrrggghhh now I*m suffering from pink folder withdrawel.

Oooh can I help? wink

Dabitch... so sorry for making you feel the pink itchj. But on the other hand - glad I don*t suffer alone.

Dabitch... so sorry for making you feel the pink itch. But on the other hand - glad I don*t suffer alone.

hehehe

Thing is, I post a lot on the front page when I*m online. So the forums are a different thing to me. A little chatty and stuff. Which is nice. It*s like the back room in the bar where you can chill out and everybody knows your name. wink You could talk about anything really, that shouldn*t be on the front page. ie, not news. Ask pressing questions like who stole my spraymount? What the hell is that damn font I see everywhere these days? and -Is the designer sneaker the new black turtleneck?

Thing is, few other people see it that way, I guess. A lot ask about ads so that forum "searching for an ad" is always packed though people ask a lot more than they help (which is a bad balance). But here people don*t just hang out and go "hey, howyadoin*" when really, they should. At the same time, we could use a lot more comments around any given post to the front page so even though fourtythousand people log in here on a regular basis (Yeah I know that number blew my mind too), few speak. It*s that old 1% of the community is the voice of it curse going on.

I dunno how to encourange people to just frolic in the forums in more ways than I have and often find myself considering shutting them down (because I wonder if it just becomes too much for visitors, too many places to commet yaknow?). It*s the "searching for X ad" that keeps the entire forum open, and has for all these years. That area saves me from getting fivehundred "seaching for X ad" emailed to my mailbox every day, when asked and replied to in the forums, other searchees can find the answer when they google, which is all good.

/ end ramble

Whu ha (how does one really spell that?)

So many pink folders. I*m all happy again. Mmmm

you are kinky, you know that?

razz

I will try to contribute to the "pink folder".

First off, I am socially inept, so don*t expect much from me. I have to get up the courage to read anything I think might be a response to something I posted. I probably have some kind of undiagnosed mental disorder going on. If I were wealthy and talented enough, I would be a total recluse and might end up like Howard Hughes or Layne Staley. I know absolutely nothing about advertising except what I have learned here at Adland. Really. Nothing. But I will try to contribute.

Who stole my spraymount? What the hell is that damn font I see everywhere these days? Is the designer sneaker the new black turtleneck?

I stole it. It*s Rotis. No.

Seriously tho, I*m really mulling on this "Forum problem".... Should they stay or should they go?

Damn it, Dabitch! Give me back my spraymount! Wait a minute, I thought it was Rotis who stole my spraymount. Isn*t Rotis the one who wears the designer sneakers and the black turtleneck?

Fixing a problem is difficult when you*re not sure what the cause of the problem is. Perhaps, people don*t post much for the same reasons you don*t - life is busy. However, the amount of people who view the site and the number of people who participate is askew. Are all those really too busy to post a comment? Do they want to post a comment?

I would like to see the forums continue. Maybe we just need more people posting to get others to comment. This might be a good start.
