No rules in creative dep?

I wonder what Neil French would say about this. wink

It sounds like bad business...do they take their clients out to such places as well? I sort of thought this type of thing died out with martini lunches and blow parties. rolleyes

Hi,

I*m a female creative working for a branch office, Europe oriented network agency, 50% foreigner, 50% local.

And this is all about sexuality...or, well, sexual harassment.

1) Advertising industry is still male dominant.--->I knew it and I took it.

2) Creatives are frankly speaking. Sex jokes float around a lot.---> yup, I kinda understood the culture. Accept it.

3) There are 10 staffs in my creative department and I*m only female. The rest are male (and straight)

---> hmmm, ...maybe just a coincidence...

4)On the creative department*s trip for training, the hotel was booked in the middle of red-light district ,include mine---> hold on...

5) On the same training trip, all the department ,except me,

went along one day trip to buy hookers.---> Should I accept it because I*m working for Creative department at advertising agency?

Am I too naive?

lol

is it a joke?

It sounds a joke, but it*s really happened...

To make it precise, CD didn*t go to the one day sex tour, but all other male creative went on the last day of the training.

Is this red card level? or yellow card?

Or do you think "hey! they*re creative guys. they*re different. you should accept it"-level?

i dont know what business of yours it is if other people go to hookers honestly.

Hey Monkchild - totally agree with you on that one. But hey - we*re Danes. Hookers in our country can write of pantyhose on their tax. So guess we*re just a little more liberal on this matter than most of the world (not including Holland of course). smile

So...for agencies in the Netherlands, is it proper and acceptable to put one-day-trip buying hookers in the itinerary of company*s offical training trip is acceptable?

what do female staffs do while you*re ejaculating off? watching?

no offence. out of curiosity.

>> i dont know what business of yours it is if other people go to hookers >> honestly.

It kinda sounded like it was part of the training package here? In that case, hell yeah red card - is the agency footing the bill for that shit? What the feck! How weird is that? But hey, I*m probably a bore I get wigged out when agencies not only accept but expect weekly strip joint expenses. Although I*m happy I don*t have to pay for those watered down drinks.

wink

Sattypeaches, I totally agree with you.

It sounds like your CD is a sexist pig who did not even think about buying you a male hooker. I mean, c*mon! How could he leave you out on this team building exercise?

I think you should call him out on that and make him buy you lunch. mad

Well, I am from Turkey and most agencies including international ones have a lot of males working in the creative department. On the other hand, 95% of the account people are females. I hate this set-up but it seems to give better results in this industry.

Dabitch - totally agree with you. Going for a quickie and a blow job as a team building thing should be red carded.

Compare it to the companys alcohol policy. You don*t get plastered while on the job - and you don*t buy hookers. What you do after hours is on the other hand none of anyone elses business. At least not as long as the CD doesn*t charge the agencys clients for it.

To make it short

On the job - zip up

Off the job - knock yourself out if that*s what you want

yeah, I agree if it happened after hours, none of my business.

I was shocked with the blow job tour partially supported by company....

At my office, more than 3/4 of accounts are men, so as 100% male management. I don*t think I have place to complain to. So I guess no other choices but leaving...

You*ll never find out what*s the office like unless you start to work there. There is always something to learn...

Same problems, different country. It seems no matter where you are, guys will be guys. My boss doesn't slap me on the back or invite me along on his sexcapades with the guys in our creative department either. He probably would if I had a dick though. No, I don't have penis envy, just wish it wasn't such a white boy's world.

Interesting topic. I know in Japan all business contracts are signed at the "Geisha Houses" - sushi bar with Geisha girls that do anything for you...

It is less obvious here in the US since sexual harassment is strongly prohibited.
