Do recruiting sites make sense?

I*d like to know if the lot of ad industry specialized recruiting sites you can find out there (Talent Zoo, Creative Hotlist, Coroflot, YCN) do really work or are just there to make ad money from ad people searching helplessy for a better job.
Is there someone who found a job by posting an impersonal resume and 4 or 5 smallish 300x200 portfolio jpgs on one of those sites? Please share your experience, I*m eager to know about it.

I have never gotten anything but the ones you mention ive never tried (Im not us based).
