How do you get hold of the D&AD annual 2005.

I*m like you - completely baffled as to why D&AD have made the Annual exclusive to members - and I*m lucky enough to be a member.

The book was the one thing that you looked forward to. It came into the office and you thumbed through it and sometimes you groaned at the quality of the work but usually you marvelled. Seeing the work made you want to do better and if it achieved nothing more than that it was doing a sterling service. Now there*s going to be a growing generation of young creatives who will see work that wins the lesser awards (and I*m not counting One Show, perhaps Cannes, here) and that will be their point of reference.

Enough of the rant. The only way (I think) that you could get a D&AD Annual - other than getting a junior to nick one from their agency - is to cosy up to a member. Upside - members can buy an extra copy. Downside - the cost of the copy is very nearly the same cost as annual membership.

In a time where more and more people dislike the whole advertising award thingie, the D&AD go even a step further their 2005 annual is available only to members.

Are they insane?! evil

Why is this? Isn*t the whole purpose of organisations like that, to raise the creativity? How will they do that if no one can get their book? What*s next? You can only watch Oprah Winfery if you are subscribed to O-magazine?

Anyway, disliking their strategy or not, I still want a book. Without becoming a member.

How do I get hold of a copy?
