I do copywriting. Got about five years of experience. Been about, but mostly it*s been time spent at BBH Asia-Pacific. I feel like immersing myself in a different culture for a bit. You know, soak in the creative energy of the world. So if you know of some place nice, or if you work at some place nice, if would do me much favour if you could check out my portfolio

It*s reasonably entertaining.

Dude, what are you thinking? You*re in the industry*s most creative region! And if you*ve been working for Elrick, all the better!
But if you*re so hell bent on leaving the comforts and beauty of *ole Singapore, try São Paulo.
Brasil is probably the industry*s second most creative region. Try Ogilvy there. And McCann, Nazca/Saatchi, and FCB. (Yes, FCB...probably their best office worldwide...It*s actually called Giovanni FCB.)

I was working for Elrick. But he*s spread quite thinly across the region, especially since he moved to Shanghai, China.
São Paulo, huh? Never occured to me. I guess I will write to those places you suggested. See how everything pans out. For some reason I figured living in Amsterdam might be my thing, but I could be wrong.
If you want to go to Amsterdam, try Wieden&Kennedy, 180, KesselsKramer and StrawberryFrog. Of all the agencies around here, they are the ones most likely to hire foreigners.
The good thing about Amsterdam is that everybody can and will speak English to you.
also Springer&Jacoby but they might not be hot enough for ya. wink
hmmm.. Others? Maybe s-w-h.com
remember that it rains all the bleedin* time in Amsterdam. On the upside, every band worth their salt play there so you*ll have plenty of live musical inspiration any night of the week. Yeay!

Thanks Hygge for liking my portfolio. I have written to all four of the agencies you mentioned, and except for KesselsKramer, which said they weren*t hiring, none of them replied. In which case I could have to spread my wings a bit further.
So, Dabitch (I still feel odd typing your name out), I*m not averse at all to other agencies in Amsterdam. I will write to Springer & Jacoby. I just checked out s-w-h.com and I must confess that I have never heard of them. Their website is also not in English, which makes it difficult for me to learn more.
Rain? I*ll bear that in mind. I do think too that music could be reward enough. Several times over. You*ve made me more keen, really.
It will be quite hard to get a job while you are still in Singapore.
I*ve tried to get some work around the globe and the best advice was probably from Joel Clement (CD Saatchi Asian region) "Just go. There*s no use in looking for a job while you*re far away. Take the plunge come here and for sure you will find some work".
All those agencies that haven*t replied to you, will pick up the phone once you are in Amsterdam. CD*s get hunderds of e-mails like yours every week, they can be bothered to reply. But with a portfolio like yours, they would be foolish not to try you out.
Let*s go for a beer, life is quite cheap here. (A beer would cost you € 2,- grin )

You are probably right. Ironically, it*s the same advice I give to friends who want to look for a job in Singapore, "Just come and you*ll find something."
Well, I thought I*d do some scouting around online first, exchange thoughts with people (like I do now with you) and form a better opinion on things before the eventual, unavoidable job search trip.
I love the idea of inexpensive beer. Alcohol taxes are high here in Singapore. The upside is that I can go to any bar in the world and order freely, because I will not pay more than I*m used to.
All 40.000 commercials in the commercial archive are in Apple's free and fab Quicktime player format.
You should download Quicktime if you don't already have it.
Advertising Agency: TBWA\PHS Helsinki Oy
A new channel launched, targeted at a "strong willed" female audience. Note: You need to know Pippi Långstrump to get this.

You have been a big help, thanks!
