I bet I*ve been fired more than you. In an effort to dispel some of the myths surrounding getting fired in this business, I*ve posted "Separations" which describes some of the ways I*ve been fired. Post a comment here or there, but get it out of your system. You*ll feel better.

As an added bonus, I posted my Columbus College of Art and Design photo ID where I was age 17 and another pic at age 2.

Being fired is a sign that you are alive. As mah wise uncle told me,* no one kicks a dead dog*. Been fired even after winning international award finalists position for agency. So after crying on caffeine goddesses altar have moved on.

smile it will *** em off even more.

Doesn*t it seem always the good and talent get fired. It*s the mediocre and halfwits that seem to be kept on and on and on.

In that case I am creative GOD!

...come to think of though, I usually quit. Storm out in a drama-huff.

Normally after you have another job lined up, its fun to throw a tantrum and kick some shins smile...but if you can*t time it that well still threatening violence and leaving is kinda satisfying. yup guys bad at work are good at hanging on to their jobs.

Fire me. Force me to get a better job. Nevermind. I quit. I*ll do it myself.

Dave Trott used to (at least he claims he used to) rush into the creatives teams offices every so often, and demand to know where their portfolio was. He said that he wanted to see their portfolio packed and ready to go at all times - and he encouraged them to go seek work at other agencies because "Once they find out the pay isn*t any better and the grass isn*t greener elsewhere they quit their whining and get back to work."

So whenever I catch myself whining at work, I used to polish my portfolio.
