GUINNESS BEER
Shark is a representation of death? We fear it (like death), but inside is the beyond where we pass time like nothing is troubling us (an every day game of checkers)?
Scarecrow - we believe not to be alive but in fact has a consciousness absorbed from the fields?
Or a creative team*s boozy afternoon answer to the brief that asked for an ad that kept the public guessing and the brand top of mind?
OK Zaza, what*s your take?

Hi, I am new on this forum grin .
Well I have a question and a huuuge favour that I am to ask of you...
There is an advert from the 90*s starring Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner), it is an advert for Guinness beer. It is one of the adverts from the *Pure Genius* range.
I will give you the website which it is on so you can see it, but please I aam desperate to know what the hidden connotation of the advert is! I mean why a shark? Why inside it? I won*t tell you what I think it means yet, soI don*t put ideas into ur head.
Here is the adevert http//www.absolutelyandy.com/tvadverts/videos_wmv3/guinness_keepanopenmind.wmv There ya gooo!
Thanks a lot!
Zaza x wink
You mean, they actually tried to mean something with all their symbols? I thought they just went bat-shit-nuts with surreal things (fish being a classic surreal-gag).
I could be wrong tho. Did love the ads. Oh and once I stumbled over Rutger Hauer in Amsterdam, he*s much shorter than you*d expect.
Of course a shark. What else could they choose, Nemo? A shark is a genious animal living in liquid and with the tag " Pure Genious" thats the only choice, as far as I can see...
