how to make a portfolio?
Heya kiikoo
Review the old threads for starters, the advice in these are still valid. Then ask more questions if you have any. smile
ADict wonders about making small mini-portfolio. This might be a good idea too.

We*ve also dealt with what should a portfolio look like. Personally, I like them to not be too big - you*ll get extremly sick of carrying it around. My last three were the size of a tabloid newspaper, a2. Dunno what that is in inches but youknow that HUGE poster size that art scholls usually reccommend? No way, too heavy and bulky. Thats might be worth it for fine artists/illustrators only. Something eyecatching is not a bad idea, get something that suits you.
Different portfolios - what to wear when not wearing black leather.
So, what should go in it? 8 pieces (campaigns). You can*t do eight one-offs (that is, single joke posters) you should have campaignable idea in your portfolio. Aim for eight. If you only work up five that you are really happy with use them to start with.
When you are showing your book make notes of what people like and dont like. Take their critque on everything seriously, write it down and look at it later and see if it has any merit. They might be right. Then again, they might not but never disregard advice from people you see straigt off. This will help improve your portfolio as you go along.
I was sure that there were more threads on this.. Oh well....uhm, I think that it.. for now. smile
