cold calling for an internship

Don*t call. Write or e-mail the HR department or the creative recruiter. Attach your resume, a mini-book or have a link to a website with your portfolio. Make sure your letter is creative and is customized per agency....don*t send a generic letter.

There are a few shops that i can think of that don*t have any info around for internships. What*s the best way to approach someone from that agency to find out if they offer them?
