la copie?
Enemies? Of course not.
Far from it, I link to both you guys in the links. Do you link to http://ad-rag.com/badland.php ? smile
It*s true that the sites are very different too - we do a lot of TV badlanders lately for example. Etc. Like you said, it should be a webring, with like buttons or something. wink
with like my old banners

and a link that reads Next "ads separated at birth" website --------->"
lol

Badland has been around since 1996. I don*t speak that much French but I doubt La Pompe is older.
grin
haha, it's true that the first Badlander i put up on adland back in 96 was something about a bunch of volkswagen films, later followed by Afri Cola, a few frozen coffee drinks and other twins.... But I*m pretty sure that Joelapompe has been around a while too, at least since 2003 when I added it here in the adlinks. Trade mags have been doing Badland twins "seperated at birth?" for as long as I've been reading them (on occasion, rather than in every issue) and the web is big enough for two badland-corners in different languages anyway. Also, we have different "victims" so it's fun to bookmark both.
Had I stuck to only noting badlanders and not started ad ranting and adding books and films as well, and then inviting a giant community in to play with, Adland would probably look a lot like Joelapompe today. Does anyone know if that means Badland in french? ;)
Here*s another one.
http://www.coloribus.com/
Unlike here, they don't bother writing anything about the ads, they just collect a bunch of very visual twins and post. Plenty of twins there already.
Hi!
Joelapompe in french... well I*ll try to explain.
Joe is a name. Like john doe. Like anybody....
La Pompe means "cheater", guy who only "copy" and not create.
It means something like MrCheater or something lol
See you soon guys
Joe
little note I didn*t copied Badland because I didn*t knew about this website before this year.
John Doe huh? Kewl, thanks for explaining that to poor little me who completly flunked french (it was my worst grade EVER in school. Sadly). grin
I knew it had to be something like that... I mean, somehow connected to the twin ad-idea as the site itself shows only twin ads (and posters and stuff). Now I still can*t read any French to save my life but I do check it out anyway as I can get the important details like see the ads, and read the names of the creators and the year the ads were made. That*s universal. smile
Like I said earlier, trade mags have been doing Badland twins "seperated at birth?" for as long as I*ve been reading them so the "twin ads" thing isn*t new. It*s also true that it was why I started a webpage - I couldn*t very well do an ad graveyard now could I? Zeldman alrady had that area cornered. hahaha! wink
Nothing is new under the sun haven*t we learned that by now? smile)
sure you*re right. By the way we shouldn*t consider ourselves as enemies but like some kind of "webring", "brotherhood" sites, underground counter advertising culture... I really like to go and have a look on your badland stuff and I enjoy Coloribus too. Each one find different and new funny examples. We all are necessary, and it*s great that we come from different parts of the world.
Long life to our websites! We should continue to bother people who are too confident about their genius ideas and juries that don*t have any culture!
Keep up the fight,
Joe

Nice redesign!
Am I reading the dates here correct? Has this thread been posted to every other year since 2004?
yep, some topics are like that. ;) And since it's from before the rebuild, it's gotten all confused as to what order the first two go in.
