Some websites have a historical archive of commercials like usatvads.com...but they*re pretty pricey. You can laso check out tvparty.com. tvdays.com.
If you*re poor (and who isn*t these days), you could try asking for help at admuseum.org and mtr.org (The American Museum of Advertising and The Museum of Television and Radio).

Hey There-
I am looking for an old 60*s commercial that was recently redone with Seinfeld. I really would like to track down the original - it was a travel commercial with a real James Bond theme.... Does anyone have a suggestion for how to go about tracking it down/getting it??
