Info Reqested on Link to old (2000/2001) Advertisement webst

I took a look, and just my luck. x__x
http//www.televisioncommercials.com/ <-- Was the one I looked for, which was AUSTRALIAN commercials, not British..
Even worse, though, is that Archive.org respects Robots.txt, so I won*t be able to see old versions... \
Thanks again. grin

Way back when www.commercial-archive.com had four panels, the link section would have a link that had tons of streamed British advertisements....
But now, I can*t remember the URL, and so I can*t see if http//www.archive.org has anything on it!
Any help?
Things remembered
Lots of orange.
Small, small ASF-streamed files.
http//viper10280 <-- Old stream server.
THanks for any help!
Heya
Little known trivia fact; The Links part of the four panel blue and black old commercial archive site, was the actual link database still here today. As I was running two seperate adsites, i used one link database for both of them to save grooming time, I think I started doing that late 99. Anyway, one thing lead to another and now both sites have merged. smile
the waybackmachines snapshots of the commercial archive is rather spotty, yeah.. So I dragged up the HTML for the original 1999 links, backed up in early 2000, it reads as follows
********************************************
AdCritic
Large selection of the latest commercial clips.
AdLand
Ad commentary from an actual real-life ad-obsessed art director. (*note, that would be me, in the young adland)
Commercial Reviews
Featuring ad clips, reviews of the latest ads, plus the option to post your own critiques.
Directorsite
A director reference guide, this site includes commercial and music video clips grouped by director.
Television Commercials
Covering the Australian ad market, they offer full-screen, full-motion clips for purchase and download.
TVparty! Video Vault
A great selection of ads from the 1950s and *60s. Be sure to catch the greater TVparty! site, with it*s vintage television histories and clips.
Ultra Video
Hailing from New Zealand, Ultra Video offers subscription-based access to ads from the local NZ scene.
USA TV Ads
Taking advantage of a catalog of commercials dating back to the 1970s, this monitoring service provides many clips for download from its fine collection. See their Super Bowl 2000 collection.
Xtreme New Commercials
UK oriented, it sports stills and descriptions of the top ads in the UK market. Little known fact XNC is the site that inspired the creation of the Commercial Archive.
Yahoo! SuperSpots
Some clips from the 2000 Super Bowl.
********************************************
Later when this link database was used, we did backup, but backup of links from later 2000 isn*t something I hung onto. Front page posts, films and images are more the thing we keep around. wink If a link dies in the database or is reported dead, I simply delete them.
Anyway, hope that helped a little at least.

You were looking for right?
I was sad to see that site go. I don*t think the archive/waybackmachine archives images/streaming data.
more bonus trivia jus* because the waybackmachine is so much fun! unltd.tm hosted adland for a bit (i owned that URL, but then they locked the domains down, preventing the URL*s from moving to another IP. Waste of money!)
Earlier, adland was at 98 blipp.com/adland - earlier still in 1996 we were at Wineasy.se - you might find waybacking on the old adlinks there amusing.
there*s even earlier incarnations of adland that the waybackmachine has saved.. But I wont torture you with more.

the 96 adland is mighty green!
In regards to british commercial sites with "lots of Orange" I can think of two that answer to that description today. Both are in the adlinks here
adwatch uk and the younger but larger site CreativeClub.
Thanks for all your help, and yeah, I *Think* it was probably XNC...
Thank goodess $2 per month pays the bills. O_O!
