The Concept Kit is a ‘Must Have* resource.
The Concept Kit is an invaluable resource for advertising professionals, including agency creative directors, creative group heads, art directors and copywriters. It is also highly suitable for internal advertising and sales departments, as well as graphic designers, website developers and even advertising students as a tool to help develop their portfolios.Check it out at www.adeeze.com
But wait! There*s more!
The Concept Kit can also help the middle east roadmap to peace and ease the fighting in Liberia. Not to mention help the Russians work things out with the Chechens.
Oh Concept Kit, is there anything you can*t do?
The concept kit is just another nail in the creatives coffin.
Lets all become cartoonists, novelists, astronauts and film directors and leave the suits to play with their CD*s from adeeze.
grin
ack, we*re all barreling down the highway to obsolescence and the work is doomed to a cheerful sort of mediocrity at best (soul-suckingly horrible at worst)... too few recognize what*s good and "does the job" is good enough.
Is this a tool or a substitution? Or a crutch? My multiple personalities have a debate
If the smaller clients are too poor, too cheap or too determined to do it themselves, perhaps they ought to be given safety scissors of sorts nuts and bolts, bits and pieces that are of a better quality than the stuff that comes with freakin* Publisher or what have you... Or maybe they ought to use this type of product, not as ColorForms or paint-by-numbers for their in-house efforts, but as an educational tool.
Oooh yeah! If this means that I don*t have to look at one more bitmapped photo or logo and painfully poor typography, then give me some of that sweet morphine!
BUT, then again... if everybody*s using the same cake mix, then everybody will be serving up vanilla cake. Even if you add some of your own ingredients, it*s still founded in vanilla cake. And students, they should be teaching you this in school... if you can*t build a book in portfolio school... nooo, maybe this will be a required "text..."
AND nevermind that too many of us already mine the annuals for inspiration - myself included - rather than observation of the world and people around us... oh hell, I*m too hungover to be coherant about this.
oh crikey, adeez, where do I send my credit card number? I*m insecure about my abilities, tired of people with zero skills making gobs of money putting out crap... I may as well give in to the dark side completely. cry
An excellent resource! Our creative reference library awaits its arrival.
Heay, come on tell me this koncept kit is a joke.!?? eek eek eek
Did any of you buy it?
It*s no joke. It*s actually a worthwhile resource.I bought four for the groups.
Anything that provides quality reference points that leave it to you to lift the bar higher is ok.
Otherwise why do we all read award annuals? To get insprired, right? this does much the same thing.
Granted a naff name, but it has some good, if not great stuff on it. If you want to observe and soak up influences you got to have an open mind.
CeeDee, since you have used it could you please explain what it is sans press-release style hype? smile
disclaimer Haven*t used the stuff nor seen anything but the site. Here*s my thoughts;
I*m just wondering how "ready made concepts in a box" created by a "multi award wining copywriter" doesn*t amount to "Badland" at once? I*d like to see what the box contains, like if it*s creative exercises the style of Roger Von Oechs (Whack in the side of the head) as that sort of thing is very useful to get the creative juices flowing.... Or if it*s different strategic ideas "sell the thing X on strategy X".. or .. what? I second adlibs Q CeeDee, whats in that box?
Rogers site by the way http//www.creativethink.com/
What is it? I know ‘The Concept Kit* makes it sound like it*s something you build, like some sort of model aeroplane. Wrong! It*s a strong collection of headline-based concepts, about 750 in total, covering a whole host of categories, basically from Auto-Zoo. The guy who wrote it, Rob Mitchell, obviously knows his stuff. I mean, it*s not full of naff stuff like “Sizzling Summer Sale”! He has employed various techniques that we all use, sometimes subliminally to arrive at an idea; there are some nice approaches to the headlining. To give you an example, this is how we have used it in some blue-sky sessions. One of the ideas featured was for a Law Firm. “Divorce settlements so successful, your mother-in -law will hate you even more.”
Apart from a good laugh, we took that, extended it, added some other twists and built a very successful print and radio campaign around it. Here*s another one that came in handy.
There was a great line it for a sports memorabilia store “ If these balls could speak”.
One of our interns suggested it was a good title for a life story about Harry Reems, (laugh and applause all round the room!) but it got everyone thinking. Imagine a radio campaign that has Ali*s boxing gloves talking about hitting Frazier or how Hank Aaron*s bat felt hitting a home run and so on. It became a great radio campaign, classic ‘theatre of the mind* stuff. So, you see, it is tool.A very useful one. Hope that answers your query.

aaah... then I get it. Sounds sortof like a creative whackpack. (term used for Roger von Oechs set of cards with symbols on it)
but different (the whackpack has no words). little more tailored for advertising specifically.
