I see ghosts - plural!

Here's a dupliclaim I never thought would happen, but I have seen many many ghosts lately.

First spook encounter was in March and later in April when an interview with Jeff Goodby - done by a ghost - was sent out planet wide. This was the mere beginning of Ghost plan of raising unpublished ads up on the pedestal they deserve.
These ghosts later invaded Cannes during the adfest to scream a different kind of booh than usually heard in those parts.

here comes the second ghost.. [read more]

Honey - where are my ideas?

Ikea rocked the advertising world all the way from Canada to Denmark. Must've been all that jumping on the beds!

Watch this space

"It's a dark, gory type of game and we thought it was appropriate to raise advertising to a new level."

AdVent - best horrible line wins!

We've all been there, when your client or boss says something incredibly stupid in he heat of the moment.
Lines like "What's the latest I can approve this and still have it ASAP?". Classics like "Perfect! See changes." and such - well Jim from Coudal.com and myself want you to AdVent!
Tell us the stupidest lines you've ever heard, and get a chance to win a 20pack from Jewelboxing, the professional-grade, short-run DVD/CD packaging system.

Best two stupidest lines win a 20pack from Jewelboxing- so you can make a great looking send-off portfolio or reel and get the heck out of that agency. ;)

advertising, a royal job.

Swedens prince Carl Philip is doing his Internship at Storåkers advertising agency in Stockholm. (I hope he gets one at King next) as part of his studies in Graphic Design at Forsbergs skola.

He's not the only one in the family with designer genes, ;) his sister princess Madeleine did her internships at Lowe Brindfors and Sandell Sandberg last year. Lets not forget his fathers uncle, Sigvard Bernadotte who designed for Bang & Olufsen and the swirly M logo for Marabou.

Legal - Court uphold homofobic ad rejection.

An appeals court in San Francisco has ruled that the city of San Francisco did not trample on religious freedoms or First Amendment rights when it urged a local boycott of an anti-gay advertising campaign backed by conservative Christian groups.

Lara Croft pitches for Visa

On the heels of the James Bond and the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon-inspired commercials, Visa launched a regional commercial titled "Monster Chase". Still under the "All it Takes" ad campaign, the TV ad features the animated and the real-life Lara Croft entangled in a sticky situation. What ensues is a cliff-hanging drama laced with action and stunts.

Mama Mia that's a ballsy rip-off ...

Those who don't know their history are condemned to repeat it.

But repeat it this well? This is a carbon-copy of the idea - with herring instead of meatballs.

Three Bears Attack! John West Salmon spawns stateside offspring 4 QTs at once

On November 20th of 2000, Leo Burnett released a commercial into the airwaves for a scrappy UK fish canner by the name of John West. Using a delightful blend of ursine humour, animatronic costumery and street-smart martial arts, the spot soon took off all over the Web, ending up in a plethora of in-boxes around the world. Then, in late January of 2001, three surprisingly similar concepts swam across the pond and leapt into the living rooms of America... (Would you like to know more? WARNING - four films in one go fast lines only!)

No more autoplay on commercials

Autoplay you say?
Why yes, all commercials in the database had the habit of auto-starting as soon as they loaded - adgrunt pufu pointed out on the McDonalds I'm luvin' it thread, that pufu wasn't lovin' it.
In fact it is rather annoying when one wants to comment or rate a commercial, as the reload causes the commercial to start over.
100% of the other adgrunts we surveyed agreed. ;) Remember, the data will admit to anything when tortured long enough.

So, we waved our magick wand over the database and changed 11434 commercials (My god how did we get so many?) to not automatically play when loaded, instead you press the play button when you want to watch it. Hope y'all like it!
