Hombre Magazine double page sticky spreads - Argentina print ads

Oh look, a clever use of glue to make a point. These ads reminded me - ironically perhaps - of the POWA (People Opposing Women Abuse) rape ads from Lowe Bull in 2003* only because of the glue. See what the ads looks like folded out inside (I bet you can guess what the funny is already though...)

1979 PIA "New York 16 h 30" WTC Twin Towers plane crashing press ad

I don't really know what to say about this PIA press ad from a bygone era... Except, remember when you could do bold graphic image solutions in advertising without offending anyone? Yeah, neither can I. Here's a dramatic black and white press ad for PIA - Pakistani Airlines - advertising that they fly to New York.

Pringles - Jalapeño! Print, Canada

Grey Canada, Toronto brings us this hot ad. Teeheehee. Oh wait, there's more inside - it's kind of a Badlander.

Nugget since 1942 - Print , Argentina

This made me laugh. How irrelevant is UFO's to shoe polish? Oh, so very. But it does tell me what I need to know - this polish gives you really shiny shoes. Which could be useful if there's a UFO-attack. ;) Euro RSCG Buenos Aires did this print ad.

Update! There's a TV commercial to go with this here:
Nugget Bright & Shiny - Since 1942 - (2008) :40 (Argentina)

HP Advanced Photo Paper "Ripped Exit" - ambient/outdoor

When I first saw this I swear I let a little "How the f... did they do that?" and so, for once, the little photos showing how it's was done were necessary. Now all I want to know is where the heck they've been hiding those swiss alps looking quaint towns in Malaysia. This clever little "exit" standee thing seems to have gone on a world tour. Jammy bastard.

Sure active response - print ad - (2004) UK

Since we've been looking at how you sell Axe for men in the print campaign in the USA and the print&poster campaign in UK, I thought a quick peek at the latest Sure active response print ad for women would be fun. Read more to see it.

Hubba Bubba "gum by numbers" posters, Australia

Hubba Bubba wants to "keep Australia beautiful" and to encourage people to do something nice with their used gum rather than just spit it out on the street. So they did this clever wild poster campaign with "paint by numbers"... er, no wait "gum by numbers" art for gum addicts to stick their colorful globs of gum on instead.

McDonald's peels the fat off

Bigmigu.com tips us to an unusual McDonalds ad created by Leo Burnett, Turkey. Unusual execution, showing the slimmer side of McD. (More ad inside).

Pay Gap - women are worth exactly half as much as men.

Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, Vienna sends us this note with some..uh... notes. Using bank notes in advertising never made this much sense before.

Women are severely discriminated when it comes to their income. The worldwide
avarage income of a woman is still more than 40% less than the avarage income of a
man. Many banknotes with a female portrait are worth 50% less than banknotes with a
male portrait. This perfectly reflects the discriminating situation of women in the
workforce.
